We are looking to broaden the platform’s reach and content through new collaborations and support. Specifically, we seek partnerships with additional educational and sustainability projects (beyond RES4CITY, SHERLOCK, COSS and STREACS) to host their training modules on BoostMySkills. We also welcome engagement with universities, industry stakeholders, and public agencies who can help scale up learner outreach, contribute new course content, or endorse the platform to ensure its long-term success and impact.

Launched in late 2024 and fully operational (3,300+ users as of Nov-2025). Currently expanding content: the SHERLOCK project’s courses are live, and new modules from COSS and STREACS are in preparation. Next steps include broadening the user base thru outreach and securing long-term support (via new project partnerships or institutional backing) to maintain / update the platform beyond the project

The platform and its model are highly scalable. As an online service, BoostMySkills can accommodate many more users and courses with minimal marginal cost. We’ve already reached 3,300+ learners without issues, and the technology behind the platform can support much greater demand. Content expansion is equally straightforward: new modules and even entire course suites can be added easily, as shown by integrating additional projects like SHERLOCK. The business model itself scales through partnerships: each new project or institution that joins brings content and resources, expanding the platform’s offerings and audience without significant new investment. In short, BoostMySkills can grow rapidly in both user base and content breadth while maintaining quality, effectively adapting to increasing demand for green skills training.

The result is highly replicable. The BoostMySkills concept (an online micro-credential training platform) can be transferred to other contexts or expanded by new stakeholders. In fact, our multi-project expansion demonstrates this: the RES4CITY platform model has been adopted by the SHERLOCK project and others, who are using the same platform to host their own training content. Any organization seeking to provide targeted skills education could replicate this approach, either by joining BoostMySkills or by deploying a similar open-source platform with their branding. Because the micro-credential format and the technical infrastructure are not tied to a specific topic or region, they can be reused widely (for example, to address other skill gaps or languages). Overall, BoostMySkills serves as a blueprint that other projects or consortia can follow to build their own flexible, certified training programmes.

We have a clear plan for long-term sustainability. The platform infrastructure is maintained by partner institutions and built on open-source technology, keeping costs low. Multiple stakeholders are committed to its continuation: UNITAR and the partner universities plan to continue using and supporting the platform as part of their training offerings. Its evolution into a multi-project hub further strengthens sustainability: new projects like COSS and STREACS will contribute fresh content and support, helping keep the platform up-to-date. This shared ownership model spreads maintenance efforts and ensures ongoing relevance. Moreover, because BoostMySkills addresses a critical green skills need, public institutions and sponsors have a vested interest in its persistence. With a growing user base and multi-partner backing, BoostMySkills is well-positioned to remain active and impactful beyond the project’s end.
