The Waste-Wood Dowel-Laminated Timber Slab is an innovation developed by the Natural Building Lab (NBL) at TU Berlin in collaboration with Terhalle Holzbau (THOLZ) within the GreeNest project. The element utilizes reclaimed waste-wood to create high-performance, dowel-laminated timber slabs suitable for structural applications. By replacing adhesives with wooden dowels, the slabs offer a fully biodegradable and reversible solution for circular construction.
The project focuses on optimizing waste-wood processing methods, mechanical performance, and scalability, ensuring the product meets industry standards and regulatory requirements. It holds the potential for exploitation by industrial partner Terhalle Holzbau.
