Result description
A unique audit process integrated with M&V service. 4RinEU Cost-Optimal Energy Audit provides a comprehensive and thorough process protocol that allows users to perform accurate assessments and draft reliable retrofit investment proposals.
This result provides a comprehensive overview of the M&V protocol, stressing the importance of defining and implementing a clear plan under the general principle of IPMVP, which ensures the achievement of results and the correct reporting. For each step of the retrofit process, the key activities are listed, as well as the most appropriate analysis technologies. The result is a full service supporting the building owner, the design team, and the construction company in the retrofit project.
Addressing target audiences and expressing needs

We are looking for public and private building owners wanting to apply the protocol in significant retrofit projects with the aim to collect more data on best practice cases and further validate our performance driven retrofit approach.
Some parts of the protocol, like M&V, can be applied also to already retrofitted buildings to evaluate the achievements or to analyse problems in operation phase. We are looking for building owners or maintenance companies interested in performing analysis of the building performance to find possible improvements.
Moreover we are looking for collaborations to develop additional tools to reduce the time needed to perform the protocol and to improve the management of the process.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
4RinEU tested the involvement of building owners in some tasks of the M&V process in order to identify all possible problems in the strategy. As a result, the protocol suggests to reduce drastically their involvement and to give more responsability to professionals and certified providers.
The next step is to find collaborationa and funding to develop additional tools to speed up the implementation of the protocol and make the process management easier. In this regard, the approach will be to select existing applications for standard tasks and to focus the investment only on the most important task.
In order for the business model to be fully scalable, it is necessary to develop additional software tools to speed up some processes. At moment, the result focuses more on our service.
The protocol is developed to support the deep retrofit of big residential buildings, but can be adapted to other types of buildings. Target market: initially residential, at a later stage also commercial & industrial.
The business model helps the customer calculate investment with less errors, increasing VAN while reducing time and effort in process management. As a consequence, more building retrofit projects can be financed in a shorter period of time. By using our protocol. the project could increase the savings during the implementation and the operation phases, ensuring a lower impact on the climate. Moreover, building ccupants could enjoy a better air quality and a more comfortable building environment.
