Result description
The Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (CAT) identifies the threats to which healthcare organizations are exposed to and quantifies the risk caused by a wide variety of threats during data exchange. It also identifies existing and planned controls for risk treatment and determines the potential impact of detected cyber threats on components (end-users’ assets) involved in the process of data exchange among multiple healthcare organizations. Moreover, it provides business values (i.e., quantitative scores) associated to the organization, their assets, their risk models and the confidentiality, integrity and availability consequences of these threats against the healthcare business operations.
CAT is a software component in charge of analyzing data coming from multiple sources and assessing the risk level of an organization. CAT uses incident detection functionalities that provides the capabilities of a SIEM solution which combines with the fact of being able to handle large volumes of data to produce qualitative and quantitative scores of the cybersecurity risks an organization is exposed to.

In CAT exploitation lifecycle, an approach in which stakeholders’ interactions with the cybersecurity ecosystem are clear and deliberate, is addressed. The interoperability and scalability challenges that can be addressed with the modular design of CAT assures the sustainability in the long-term.
