Result description
Through the AGMEREA project, Radai advanced from research to market-ready solutions that strengthen sustainable mineral exploration. The project resulted in a multi-sensing drone system combining magnetic, electromagnetic (EM), and radiometric surveys in one platform. A new drone, the Coot, was optimized for carrying geophysical payloads, significantly lowering survey costs compared to manned aircraft. The project also established a calibration facility to guarantee reliable and repeatable EM data. Field demonstrations in Finland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, and Zambia proved the system’s scalability across different terrains and customer needs. The first prototypes of a drone-based EM slingram and radiometric survey system were successfully tested. With these achievements, Radai is positioned as a frontrunner in drone-enabled geophysics, offering exploration companies faster, safer, and more precise targeting of the most promising mineral resources while reducing environmental footprint

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
Drone based EM system with ground loop transmitter has been developed on TRL 5. Next phase is to start conducting pilot surveys with customers.
Drone based EM fully airborne slingram system is in TRL 4. Aim is to get this under pilot survey with customers during year 2025.
Drone based Radiometric system is in TRL 4.
Radai has established subsidiaries in different countries: Zambia and Tanzania. In future Radai will establish more subsidiaries other countries and continents. Business model is to sell survey systems to these partner companies and get revenue stream from selling the equipment and more over data processing.
Radai has been performed replicable drone based magnetic surveys in Scandinavia, Zambia and Tanzania. Idea is to do the same for AGEMERA products.
Radai’s drone-based geophysical survey tools support sustainable mineral exploration by reducing environmental impact, increasing efficiency, and creating shared value for multiple stakeholders.
Lower environmental footprint – Our lightweight UAV systems replace manned aircraft and ground surveys that require fuel, heavy machinery, and large crews. This means less CO₂ emissions, reduced disturbance to ecosystems, and minimal ground impact.
Efficient resource discovery – With high-resolution UAV data, mining companies can identify and focus faster and more accurately on the most promising exploration areas, reducing unnecessary drilling and field campaigns. Fewer failed drillholes mean less waste, lower land disturbance, and better use of resources.
