Result description
Our result aims to showcase the integration of blockchain technology with advanced AI/ML algorithms for trust, user authorisation enhancement, and real-time intelligence in 5G and edge-cloud computing environments. The above-mentioned integration, as the Greek pilot verified, provides a secure and intelligent framework for managing distributed edge resources, without impacting latency, reliability, and data integrity. We are making this outcome public to accelerate innovation, encourage adoption, and foster collaboration among telecom operators, researchers, academia and technology developers. By sharing these insights openly, we aim to empower stakeholders to build more secure, efficient, and intelligent B5G networks.
Objectives: Integration of blockchain and AI/ML algorithms in 5G networks and beyond.
Advantages: The integration of these technologies will support the development of new services and business models positioning OTE at the forefront of next-generation network transformation.
What is new: B-RAN
Why is it important: OTE’s exloitation goal aims to demonstrate how blockchain and B-RAN architecture have the ability to drive innovation in B5G mobile networks by enabling dynamic network scalability, while simultaneously enhancing trust, security, and privacy.
Addressing target audiences and expressing needs
- To raise awareness and possibly influence policy
This outcome will address the needs of telecom operators, edge-cloud providers, networks, and AR/VR application developers who require advanced security, low latency, and verifiable coordination of distributed services. Advanced authorisation for data exchange enhances trust across B5G ecosystems. We aim to encourage standardisation efforts and stimulate more pilot deployments reaching R&D organisations and impacting innovation for next-generation networks, as well as policymakers shaping Europe’s digital infrastructure landscape.
