Result description
Used during early-life immune system assessment (typically ages 1–6), particularly in studies related to gestational exposures, allergies, and immune-mediated disease risk profiling.
- Fresh blood samples are collected and stimulated using TruCulture® tubes with specific ligands (e.g. LPS, zymosan).
- Cytokine concentrations are measured from supernatants.
- Gene expression profiling is performed from cell pellets using RT² Profiler PCR Arrays.
- Specific IgE is quantified in serum using ImmunoCap™ Phadiatop™ Infant test.
The method stimulates innate immune responses in whole blood using standardized ligands. It then analyzes both secreted cytokines and transcriptional changes, providing a high-resolution profile of immune function relevant to early markers of allergy and immune dysregulation.
