In order to help mainstream and support wide-scale adoption of the iTEC approach after the end of the project, a number of toolkits were produced, and the most valuable components of these were combined to create a final consolidated Future Classroom Toolkit[1]. This can best be thought of as a change management toolkit that can be used by different stakeholders (school leaders and teachers, policy makers, ICT suppliers) to:
- analyse trends and challenges in society at large and related to ICT in Education;
- compare how well a school is exploiting ICT by using a maturity model;
- help schools to design innovative Learning Activities that encourage both teachers and learners to move out of their comfort zones; and
- carry out future classroom pilots and evaluate impact.
The toolkit is designed as a complete process to create Future Classroom Scenarios (FCS) and use them as inspiration for designing innovative Learning Activities. It is composed of five separate toolsets that each describe and provide a guide to carrying out different activities within the FCS process. Each toolset has also value on its own and can be used as individual tools.
