Key features of GeoPl@ntNet include:
1. Visualisation of distribution maps: Users can select any plant species or EUNIS habitat of interest and visualise its distribution at various scales across Europe in the form of high-resolution maps (50x50m).
2. Exploration by region of interest: It is possible to select (by drawing on the map) specific regions (e.g., an undeveloped area of a city, a protected natural area, or the banks of a river) to explore local biodiversity (e.g., species present and their coverage).
3. Detailed reports:
- The tool generates them on the selected area, including indicators like:
- The number of protected species in the area, according to the EU Habitat Directive or the IUCN Red List. The number of invasive species which may represent a threat to local ecosystems.
- The number of endemic species specific to this region that require particular attention in terms of conservation.
