Typically, a public event (e.g. concert, football game) is recorded (e.g. video) via the devices of multiple spectators, providing UGC. From this content, the corresponding sound recordings (User Generated Recordings, UGRs) capture the event soundscape from a specific location and for a given time segment. Combining the multiple UGRs of a specific event for creating a realistic immersive reproduction of the original soundscape of the event is the objective of this innovation. In order to achieve this result, several challenges related to the organisation and synchronisation of the audio content have been addressed, which are important innovations on their own.
