Result description
A new motor for EV-s without any use of rare-earth magnets. The motor will be a competitive trade-off in terms of performance and manufacturability so that it can represent an alternative for EV drives. It will also be an integrated package with power-electronics and gearbox on it.
Torque density increase in a relatively cost-effective way: due to switched reluctance technology in combination with the transversal-flux topology of the electrical machine.
Compactness: design that integrates the gearbox inside the rotor of the electrical machine, not using additional volume, and is also integrated with the electronic driver design (itself other exploitation result).
