Result description
The hard C powder composition has been developed, water atomized and analyzed by GKN. Furthermore, the tensile and fatigue specimens manufactured by L-PBF system showed sufficient static and dynamic mechanical properties for the automotive end-user application. KPIs regarding energy & material consumption, production rate and CO2 emission during the water atomization process have been estimated, analyzed and compared with baseline gas atomization process.

Based on the investigations performde in SUPREME the following results can be summarized:
- 78% reduction in Energy consumption by using water atomization compared to gas atomization producing powders for L-PBF process
- 1868% increase in production rate by using water atomization compared to gas atomization producing powders for L-PBF process
