PWA climate service aims at the evaluation of fresh water balance, water quality, nutrient and bed loads transport including ecological issues using meteorological and climatological inputs. It works through a web system in which metadata, data, indicators and modelling results are supplied according to international standards WMO/OGC compliant, including semantic and ontology facilities, using web services (WMS, WFS, etc). Potential users, such as the Po River District Authority, Emilia-Romagna Region, Interregional Agency for Po river, ISPRA, Land Reclamation Boards, are able to query along the surface water bodies for Water resources management Water quality Habitat Sediment transport Ecological flow. Throughout an interactive system (Gis based) users can then compare different scenarios, have an indication of what could happen in the next 15 days, months, seasons and onward, and evaluate whether and how the current situation could turn to worst.
