An IT platform (minimal hardware required) which can be easily integrated into the existing control platform of our clients.
INDIGO solution optimally operates the DC generation plan by implementing a MPC based solution that makes use of the weather forecast (translated into demand predictions) to efficiently cover the DC demand while minimizing the OPEX of the plant.
Making use of prediction variables, such as energy prices and weather data, our solution is able not only to satisfy short-term operational goals (as current solutions) but to plan long-term management strategies that take advantage of the system dynamics (impossible to do by current solutions).
INDIGO predictive controller considers the physical limitation of the system while allowing our clients to easily include technical constraints derived from their business plan and contracts their offer to the customers.

Looking for replication in other assets of Veolia’s group.
Tekniker & Veolia in Spain, and R2M in Italy will look for new projects and showcases through which the solution may be improved, paying special attention to move the development from TRL5 to higher TRL, and analyse the feasibility of this solution for district heating systems.
Conversations for licensing fees with clients are in place.
Veolia is interested in replicating the controller in other Hospitals and assets it manages.
Experimental tests made showed an average energy savings around 30,76% in the 66,71% of the operating points when MPC was better than the traditional system. If we extend these results to a definitive implementation in the site this result represents savings of 0,098 €/kWht for thermal energy supply.
