We undertook a systematic review of 15 research studies to explore the potential link between exposure to air pollutants during pregnancy and the development of ADHD in children. Our investigation uncovered a consistent and noteworthy association between particulate matter, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and ADHD. However, the correlation with nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide remains elusive, as different studies from diverse regions yield conflicting results. Moreover, there is a scarcity of data concerning the relationship between exposure to carbon monoxide and ozone and the risk of developing ADHD.

Currently, we are working on the heavy metals and air pollutants exposure on the development of ADHD and ASD in children with data obtained from Spanish population.

Replicability

The results are based on the previous studies conducted i.e., a systematic review. Therefore, the results can be replicable if new studies come in the near future with the similar aim.
