RAPpID, a dedicated Industrial Social Network (ISN) tool for manufacturing personnel, i.e., engineers, line operators, maintenance, etc., allowing retrieval of knowledge related to past practices, sharing of new best operations practices and recent lessons learnt, as well as improving the communication and socializing between employees. RAPpID allows easy communication between production operators and engineers/experts working in other parts of the manufacturing plant or in sister plants (same company, different locations), and even suppliers, in order to raise immediate problems, seeking to solve them, and reducing hence downtime and production losses. Each person involved is connected to the tool through its own handheld/portable device(s), using a dedicated and secured application with strict access permissions, allowing their full participation and integration with the resources (humans and machines) involved in each part of the manufacturing process.
