Reductive processes based on zero-valent iron (ZVI)

Listing Description

Result description

This KER deals with the delelopment of novel methods for the removal of pollutants through a reductive way. It has been carried out with model scale and at laboratory scale. In particular, several types of zero-valent materials have been tested under different experimental conditions. Further research and technical advice is required to approach the result to real treatment (e.g heterogeneisation, scale up or optimization of reaction conditions). This process could have a niche application for effluents with low organic loading containing pollutants refractory to oxidation, such as in tertiary treatments or mining effluents
