Result description
During the SME Instrument Phase 1, PYDRO has performed a systematic and in-depth feasibility study to validate the assumptions made in the proposal on the need for Energy-Recovery Turbine for Water Pipes.
In discussions with water suppliers in Germany, the UK and the USA, as well as with scientific experts in the field of energy recovery, we were able to specify further the requirements for a drinking water turbine and further improve our business model.
The project has led to the conclusion that the best application for drinking water turbines is in smart water networks, where the systems generate energy for monitoring and control equipment and can thus contribute to reducing water losses.
Based on the results, PYDRO has developed a self-powered monitoring solution for smart water networks and has positioned itself on the emerging smart water network market.
