Result description
The Sensible Building Data Handler is the 4RinEU answer to the need for gathering, organising and preparing for analysis the large amount of data that is needed in the various phases of a deep renovation project, from the auditing phase to the monitoring.
In particular, the SBDH supports the collection of the information on the status of the building as-is with the Auditing App, to be able to get an accurate baseline of the building’s performance ahead of the deep renovation design. The second feature of the SBDH is the Dashboard, for analysing monitored data, both for the pre-renovation state of the building and the post-renovation performance. The dashboard can present different interfaces, tailored according to the knowledge of the users (e.g. facility managers, tenants, building owners, etc.).

The Sensible Data Handler has been architected as two independent software prototypes: an audit application running on mobile devices (Android and iOS), focussed on on-site data collection, primarily for pre-renovation analysis purposes; and web-based dashboards, which are used to display time-series data collected from the buildings in user-friendly interfaces, to support decision making before renovation and track operations afterwards.
