Grants to be able to scale up this solution, which is currently in TRL5. Our pourpose is to be able to reach TRL7 in the next 2 years.
The system has been tested at reduced scale (4 elements of 2 m2 each, so 8 m2), and it has been decommissioned after a year. Now, the goal is to optimize the design and face the construction of a prototype at TRL7.
There is an inmense surface of oceans and seas where the solution could be installed if it is economically affordable.
The design is patented by RDC and Tecnalia (50% each), and the pilot has been produced by PREFFOR. Other precast companies can produce it if they pay the royalty for using the design.
The size of the market is so big that the company could be sustainable at long term. Besides, if there are technological advances in the field of materials or structures, they can be integrated in the design.
