Result description
Waste heat harvesting based on RGS’ Thermagy modules was demonstrated at Elkem’s Silicon plant in Norway. The ribbon silicide TEG modules were tested under extreme conditions relevant for applications in the metallurgical industry. The demontration comprised thermal exposure up to the melting temperature of silicon, extreme thermal gradients and industrial environment.
Thermal exposure up to the melting temperature of silicon (1450oc) and extreme thermal gradients up to 400oc/min. The demonstration continued for one month.
