At its Schwarzheide technology center, Fraunhofer IAP provides flexible thermoplastic processing facilities (extrusion, film blowing, blow molding, thermoforming, 3D printing) with processing throughputs from 1–20 kg/h for innovative sustainable materials. The team is also pioneering PFAS-free ion-conductive membranes for electrolyzers and fuel cells – durable, heat-resistant alternatives that use reduced precious metals to replace current PFAS-based membranes. This membership promises new collaborations, driving technology transfer and innovation in the circular plastics economy.

On August 13th, 2025, KETMarket hosted a Convert2Green webinar with Dr. Vassilios Albanis from Inlecom Commercial Pathways in Ireland, focusing on three crucial themes for innovators, SMEs, and EU projects: Intellectual Property, Collaboration, and Commercialisation. The discussion highlighted that IP should be treated as a strategic asset and protected early to maximise value, while successful collaboration depends on clear agreements about ownership, usage rights, and publication rules. Licensing was presented as a powerful tool to create market value without giving up ownership, and a structured, stage-gated commercialisation process was shown to reduce risks and accelerate market entry. The webinar made clear that whether you are developing new technologies, working in an EU consortium, or scaling your SME, a strong IP and commercialisation strategy can determine whether an idea remains just a concept or becomes a true market success.
