EU-Canada Matchmaking Event in Montreal 2026 – Call for Expression of Interest – SMEs

Description

The SMEs stream is part of the same EU–Canada Matchmaking Event organised by the European Commission through the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP). It aims to bring European SMEs into contact with Canadian innovation ecosystem actors during the ALL IN event in Montreal from 15–17 September 2026.

The event facilitates networking and business cooperation opportunities in:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Digital Technologies
  • Quantum Technologies
  • Defence and Security.

Funding Amount

  • No financial support or reimbursement is provided for SMEs.
  • All participation costs must be covered by participating SMEs themselves.

Submission Deadlines

  • Expressions of interest must be submitted through EUSurvey by:

    • First cut-off: 5 June 2026, 23:59 Brussels time
    • Second cut-off: 26 June 2026, 23:59 Brussels time (only if places remain)
    • Third cut-off: 10 July 2026, 23:59 Brussels time (only if places remain)
    • Late applications may be accepted until 4 September 2026 at participants’ own expense.

Submission Conditions

SMEs must:

  • Submit an expression of interest through EUSurvey
  • Be willing and committed to participate in the event activities
  • Accept the terms of the call upon submission.

Eligible Types of Businesses / Organisations

Eligible applicants:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Eligible Countries

Eligible SMEs must be established in:

  • EU Member States
  • Non-EU countries participating in the SMP/COSME Strand.

Expected Outcome

Expected outcomes include:

  • New EU–Canada business partnerships
  • Increased visibility in the Canadian market
  • Access to innovation ecosystems and technology trends
  • New collaboration opportunities with clusters, companies, and research organisations
  • Strengthened innovation and internationalisation capacity.

Scope

The call targets SMEs interested in:

  • International business cooperation
  • B2B matchmaking
  • Collaboration with Canadian companies and innovation actors
  • Participation in seminars, networking sessions, matchmaking meetings, and industry events.
