RESIST II Product Innovation Open Call

Description

The RESIST II Product Innovation Open Call is part of the RESIST Eurocluster initiative, funded under the EU Single Market Programme (SMP/COSME). It supports SMEs in the Mobility, Transport and Automotive (MTA) ecosystem in developing and bringing to market new or significantly improved products and services that enhance sustainability, digitalisation, and industrial resilience.

The call aims to accelerate SME innovation across European mobility value chains by supporting:

  • product innovation,
  • prototype development,
  • validation and testing,
  • and early market uptake of solutions contributing to the green and digital transition.

Funding Amount

Per Project / SME Funding:

  • €20,000 for individual SME projects
  • €30,000 per SME for consortium projects (2–3 SMEs)
  • Consortium Maximum:
    • Up to €90,000 total per project (3 SMEs)

Funding Rate

  • 90% co-financing rate
  • minimum 10% SME contribution required

Payment Structure

  • 20% at project start
  • 40% mid-term
  • 30% final report
  • 10% after final dissemination activity

Submission Deadlines

  • Opening date: 13 May 2026
  • Closing date: 13 July 2026 (17:00 CET / Brussels time)
  • Project duration: up to 9 months

Submission Conditions

Applicants must:

  • be SMEs under EU definition
  • be established in EU Member States or SMP/COSME-associated countries
  • operate in the MTA ecosystem
  • submit either individually or in consortium (2–3 SMEs)
  • consortium SMEs must come from different NUTS2 regions

Additional requirements:

  • English submission only
  • resilience check required
  • declaration of honour required
  • compliance with eligibility and exclusion criteria
  • projects evaluated by independent experts + consortium validation

Eligible Types of Businesses

  • Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Start-ups (if SME-qualified)

Active sectors:

  • automotive
  • rail
  • cycling
  • waterborne transport
  • mobility value chain industries

Non-eligible as beneficiaries:

  • large enterprises (may participate as partners but not funded)
  • non-SMEs

Eligible Countries

  • EU Member States
  • Countries associated with the Single Market Programme (SMP/COSME strand)

Expected Outcome

The call aims to:

  • strengthen SME competitiveness in mobility and automotive sectors
  • accelerate green and digital transformation
  • reduce environmental impact and carbon footprint
  • improve resource efficiency and circularity
  • reduce dependency on critical raw materials
  • enhance European mobility value chain resilience

Expected project results include:

  • validated prototypes or products
  • improved sustainability performance
  • increased TRL of innovations
  • market-ready solutions for deployment

    • electric drivetrain components
    • hydrogen mobility technologies
    • energy-efficient vehicle subsystems
  • Circular Economy & Critical Raw Materials
    • recyclable vehicle components
    • second-life battery applications
    • CRM-efficient motors and materials
  • Digital Mobility & Smart Industrial Systems
    • AI-driven mobility systems
    • predictive maintenance
    • digital product passports
    • mobility data platforms
  • Resilient Mobility Value Chains
    • supply chain monitoring tools
    • logistics optimisation systems
    • mobility component marketplaces

Key supported activities:

  • development of new or improved products/services
  • prototyping and pilot testing
  • validation and demonstration
  • preparation for market deployment
